Figura reclinada de bronce firmada ‘G. Siccardi 1943’

Giuseppe Siccardi (1802-1857) was a sculptor and draftsman and the son-in-law of the Ponziano Loverini, who was his teacher at the Carrara Academy in Bergamo. Siccardi exhibited at the first and second Trade Unions Exhibition in Milan, at the International Sacred Art in Milan in 1921 and at the Permanente in 1931. The poetry of motherhood is an enduring theme in his body of work.
